Nutty Chili

Living Food Feast from Sprout Raw Food

Serves 8

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups Brazil nuts
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • ¼ cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh thyme
  • 1 tablespoon cumin
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1-2 jalapeno peppers
  • 1 tablespoon unpasteurized miso
  • 1 sweet onion
  • 1 cup tomatoes
  • 2 red bell peppers
  • 2 cups sun-dried tomatoes, soaked in 2 cups filtered water
  • 1 cup Tomato Salsa (see recipe)
  • 2-3 cups filtered water for desired consistency

Steps:

  1. Place the Brazil nuts in food processor and chop until finely ground and place in a bowl.
  2. Place the garlic, olive oil, salt, thyme, cumin, chili powder, jalapeno pepper, miso, onions, tomatoes and peppers, and sun-dried tomato paste in the blender. Blend well until smooth.
  3. Take this mixture and stir in the Tomato Salsa and add to the Brazil nuts, blending well. Add filtered water for desired consistency.
  4. Place in a serving bowl and keep warm in a dehydrator until serving.
