Apple Pie

Living Food Feast from Sprout Raw Food
Serves 8
Ingredients:
- 1 Nut and Date Pie Crust
- 6 Golden Delicious apples, peeled and cored
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 2 teaspoons cinnamon
- 5 medjool dates (pitted)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla powder
- 1 cup raisins
- 2 teaspoons flax seed, ground fine
- 1 cup walnuts (dry) for topping
- Prepare Nut and Date Pie Crust according to recipe and press into a pie plate.
- Soak walnuts for 12 hours, drain, dehydrate for 12 hours.
Steps:
- Start with Nut and Date Pie Crust in a pie plate.
- Process 3 apples, honey, salt, cinnamon, dates and vanilla powder in food processor (using "S" blade) until mixture is the consistency of applesauce.
- Add 2 apples to food processor, and pulse leaving small pieces.
- Place mixture in a bowl.
- Take remaining apple and slice thinly. Cut stack of slices in half. Add to bowl.
- Add raisins to bowl.
- Add ground flax seeds to bowl, stirring well.
- Place apple mixture in pie crust.
- Chop walnuts, sprinkle on top.
